Rangers walk off in ninth inning after rallying to tie the game in seventh
Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to the Rangers at Globe Life Park, ended when Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre singled to right-center field with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to score Shin-Soo Choo from second base to win the game.
Phillies rookie Mario Hollands made his big league debut against the top three hitters in the Rangers’ lineup in the ninth.
Sandberg could have used a righty to face the bottom of the lineup in the eighth and have Bastardo pitch against the top of the lineup in the ninth, but he wanted his best reliever other than Papelbon to keep the game tied with a chance to win in the ninth.
The Phillies will have a chance to take their fist series when Kyle Kendrick goes u; against Robbie Ross Jr. Tonight at 8:00pm in Arlington.
