Buffalo Bandits beats Wings 12-11 in OT

Philadelphia PA- On Sunday January 12 from Wells Fargo Center in south Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Wings opened their home schedule for the 2014 season as they hosted the Buffalo Bandits. The Wings came into game off a loss to Rochester on Jan 11, While Buffalo came into the game off a win over Toronto on Jan 10.

Buffalo won the opening faceoff and they would score the games first goal at 3:48 into the 1st quarter on a goal by James Rooney. The Wings would score their 1st goal at home for the 2014 season at 5:02 when Tracey Kelusky tied the game at 1. The Wings would take a 3-2 lead at the end of 1st quarter. Buffalo would come out firing in the 2nd quarter by putting up 6 goals to take a 8-4 lead into halftime

Buffalo would increase their lead to 10-5 in the 2nd half then the Wings would make a comeback  by scoring 7 goals in the 2nd half lead by Ryan Ward who would score 2 straight goals in 3rd quarter to cut buffalo lead to 10-7, in the 4th quarter, John Rangan would score his 1st career goal in NLL which would make it 10-8, they Ryan Ward would score the Hat Trick to make it a 1 goal game, Buffalo would score to end the wings scoring run. The Wings would tie the game at 11 at 10:59 of 4th quarter when Ryan Ward would score his 4th goal on a breakaway from a nice pass from Brodie Merrill. The game would go to Overtime and Buffalo would take the game 55 seconds into Overtime on a goal by John Tarvares.  Wings goalie Evan Kirk made 31 saves on 43 shots, while Buffalo goalie Anthony Cosmo made 43 saves on 54 shots. the Wings would look for their 1st home win of the 2014 season as they host Minnesota Swarm on January 18 at 12PM
