#6 Villanova Rolls over Georgetown

Philadelphia PA: On Saturday March 8 from Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia, it is the final home game of the regular season as number 6 Villanova hosted Georgetown in a Old School Big East Matchup. Villanova comes into game with record of  27-3 (15-2 in Big East) and coming off a big win over Xavier on Wedensday to clinch the Big East Regular Season title outright for the 1st time since 1981-82 season, Georgetown comes in with record of 17-12 (8-9 in Big East) and also coming off a big win over Creighton on Tuesday. The game was broadcasted on Fox Sports 1 with Gus Johnson & Bob Wenzel calling the Action and locally on CBS Sports Radio 610 with Ryan Fannon & Whitey Rigsby calling the action.

Villanova won the opening tip to start the game, The games first points came from Villanova Darrun Hilliard by making 2 foul shots, Villanova would open with a 5-0 run before Georgetown got on the board from Markel Starks for 2 point shot. Villanova had everything going for them in the 1st half, they would have a lead as large as 15 in the 1st half, Villanova James Bell would compete a 4 point play late in the 1st half  as he get fouled from 3 pt range, Villanova would take a 42-29 lead into halftime.

Georgetown got ball to start the 2nd half, Villanova would continue where they left off in the 1st half as they would increase their lead to 21, but the Hoys try to keep it close and would get the lead down to 15 at 69-53 with 5:47 left but it would not be enough as Villanova would roll to a 77-59 win in front of a crowd of 18,828. Villanova now enters the Big East Tournament as the number 1 seed while Georgetown comes in as the number 7 seed.
