#6 Villanova beats Seton Hall for Jay Wright’s 400th Win

Villanova PA, On Friday February 7 from the Pavilion on the campus of Villanova University, the sixth ranked Villanova Wildcats hosted Seton Hall Pirates in Big East Conference play. Villanova comes into game off a win over Xavier on Feb 3 while Seton Hall also beat Xavier on Feb 1. Villanova Head coach Jay Wright came into this game 1 away from reaching 400 wins as head coach.  The game was broadcasted Nationally on FOX Sports 1 with Scott Graham, Tarik Turner calling the action, locally on CBS Sports Radio 610 with Ryan Fannon & Whitey Rigsby calling the action.

Villanova won the opening tip to start the game, the games first points came from a layup from Villanova James Bell , Seton Hall got on the board to tie the game at 2 with a layup from Edwin Fuqan. Seton Hall would grow their lead up to 6 halfway through the first half, at one point of the game, Villanova would go 0-7 from three point range. James Bell would hit Villanova 1st three pointer with 6 minutes left in 1st half, Villanova would retake the lead with 3 minutes left in 1st half on a layup from Daniel Ochefu. Villanova would lead 34-26 at halftime.

Seton hall got the ball to start the 2nd half and they would score a layup from Sterling Gibbs, Ryan Arcidiacono got Villanova first points of the 2nd half. Villanova would take control of the game and they would expand their lead to 18 with 6 minutes left in the 2nd half, Seton Hall tried to get back into the game but they could not as Villanova would cruise to a 17 point win by the score of 70-53. Villanova head coach would pick up his 400th coaching win. Villanova now heads out on the road for a 3 game road trip.
