2015 NWSL Draft Philadelphia

Philadelphia PA: On Friday January 16 from the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia PA, The Soccer world came to Philadelphia for the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention, one of the events that was featured was the 2015 NWSL College Player draft. There was a total of four rounds in the draft. The Houston Dash has the number 1 pick in the draft. Houston selected Morgan Brian from University of Virginia. Morgan Brian could not be in Attendance for the draft as she is training with the USA National team but she sent a video message and saying that “I am honored to be selected to be 1st pick” New York had 4 picks in 1st round.  UCLA took center stage in this draft by having a total of 6 players drafted, 3 of them in a row during the 1st round which was picks 2-3-4. There was also 3 trades that were made during the draft.

Late in the 4th round, one of the local players got drafted and it was Whitney Church from Penn State who went number 30 to Washington.
