2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse National Semifinals

Philadelphia Pa- On Saturday May 25 from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia, College Lacrosse took center stage as the 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship. The Matchups are No. 7 seed Duke vs Cornell & No. 1 seeded Syracuse vs No. 4 seed Denver. The games were broadcasted nationally on ESPN2 with Eamon McAnaney & Quint Kessenich. The first semifinal game was Duke vs Cornell. Duke came into game off a win over Notre Dame on May 19, Cornell came in over win against Ohio State on May 18.
Duke won the opening faceoff to start the game, the first goal of the game came from Cornell Rob Pannell with 10:21 left, Duke first goal of game came from jake Tripucka to tie game at 1 with 8:16 left, both teams would trade goals in 1st half, Duke took a 7-6 lead into half, int he 3rd quarter duke would score 7 straight goals before Cornell scored to end the scoring drought of 15:07, Cornell Rob Pannell scores at 8:04 left in 4th quarter to become the NCAA all time leader in career points. Duke would hold on for a 16-14 win to advance to monday’s championship game.
The 2nd semifinal game Syracuse vs Denver. Denver came into game off a win over North Carolina on May 19, Syracuse came into game off a win over Yale on May 18. Denver started the game with the ball, the first goal of the game came from Denver Eric Adamson, Syracuse 1st goal of game came from Luke Cometti to make it 3-1 Denver, both teams would trade goals, Denver would take 1 5-1 lead into halftime. aSyracuse makes huge comeback to tie game with 59 seconds left 4th quarter on goal by Luke Cometti, Syracuse takes 1 st lead of game on goal by Derek Maltz. Syracuse Holds on for a 9-8 win. Syracuse now plays Duke for the National Championship on Monday
